Gudrun Freeman
received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Family and Child
Development. She is Board Certified in Marriage and Family
Counseling. Her undergraduate degrees are from Roanoke College
and Hollins University.
Before private practice, Dr. Freeman was the director of an
outpatient counseling center. She has been in private practice
since 1985. During that time, she has been a frequent lecturer
to professional groups and appeared on numerous TV and radio shows.
Dr. Freeman's orientation to treatment is an active, empowering
approach with the focus on the whole person or family group. She has
extensive experience in treating severe abuse; she also specializes
in resolving physical problems that manifest as psychological symptoms.
