He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Hampden-Sydney College and his Master’s Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed an internship and was later awarded a Fellowship with the Department of Psychiatry at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Prior to private practice, Lloyd had worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He was the Clinical Director of an area mental health service agency.
As a therapist, Lloyd works from a place of empowerment with adolescents, adults, families, and groups, and strives to guide clients in finding insight into their unique experiences, life situations and capacities for fulfillment. He is a practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and firmly believes great healing and achievement in life can be experienced by gaining insight into and changing our thoughts, perceptions, and our behaviors.
